If you are enrolled as a student in a course, the course homepage will help you navigate your course and manage your course work.

Note: Your instructor may decide to display another font for your course.

Open course

In global navigation, click the Links [1] link, and then click the name of the course [2].

The course start page includes the course navigation [1], the content area [2] and the sidebar [3].

Show course navigation

The course-home page is displayed from the course navigation home link [1].

The course navigation includes links that help you and your students get into the course to certain locations. Instructors can customize which links are displayed in a course. So if you see no links that can be displayed in other courses, your coach has hidden these links from your view.

The active connection of the page you view is highlighted with different color text and line display. This highlight helps you to quickly identify the feature area in which you are displayed in canvas.

You can also see course displays [2] that display updates of your course notes when your instructor sends your tasks.

Course Course Navigation Menu

To extend or reduce the course navigation menu, click the menu icon.

Show content area

Home Contents (and all CANVAS content) are displayed in the content area.

The content may be a page, syllabus, discussions, announcements, quiz or imported content [1]. The content can also display the course activity current that is a list of all last activities in the course. Your homepage can also be displayed current announcements at the top of the page [2].

The home page of the home also defines which sections are displayed in the sidebar.

Show breadcrumbs

breadcrumbs appear above the course content range.

If you view the course content, the breadcrumbs leave a way to show where you are in the course. You can follow these links backwards to visit previous course content.

Show sidebar

The sidebar works the same as the dashboard sidebar, but only shows content for the specific course and contains additional options.

When your course start page displays a different page than the price activity current, you can view the course activity current by clicking the Sidebar view price current button [1]. If the home page is set as price activity current, this button is not displayed.

If you have been added to a group in your course, the course group section [2] links to your course groups.

Show Sidebar sections

The sidebar always shows the DO SECTION [1], which displays all recent announcements and up to seven orders due in the coming weeks, including unlimited quizza cells and jobs that do not require submission. Each element in the TO-list displays the assignment name, the number of points and the due date for the assignment. Once the due date has passed, items remain four weeks in this section.

The sidebar may also contain a variety of other sections, depending on the layout of your instructor sets for the course start page. Additional sidebar options include the assignment list, the calendar and assignment groups and the last feedback.

Manage Sidebar elements

Each section displays a symbol [1] to differentiate between assignments and peer review assignments.

If a section contains more items than lists, a link appears under the list with which you can display additional items [2].

The to-to-section shows up to seven articles with maturities in the coming weeks. To view more items, you must manually remove items from the list.To remove an item, click the Remove icon [3].

Note: The mappings submitted by canvas automatically disappear from the to DO list. No Submission assignments (filed on paper / class) can only be removed manually from the list.
